Therapeutic Art Workshop 2023
Therapeutic Art with Intentional Creativity Coach Cella. Dive into the topic of navigating treacherous waters within and finding our individual Guiding Light to help soothe us. The class was open to adults and children. No artistic ability required as these offerings are more of a tool to use in contemplation. More classes/topics are to be offered soon.
Visual Art
Art's ability to communicate complex things more comfortably is one of the reasons why art therapy is so commonly utilized by therapists who work with kids and teens. However, sometimes art is a more comfortable way for kids or teens to communicate, and learning how to communicate is essential to everyone's mental health toolbox.
Our Invisible Art Team was honored to attend a workshop held at APSU that featured Amy Sherald, who painted First Lady Michelle Obama's original painting. The team showed Miss Sherald their artwork and presented her with a copy of our Executive Director's book, The Girl Who Felt Invisible. The book's back cover displays our 14-Year old Emmanuel drawing for the book.
