About the Founder

Sharon Kaye Edwards is an author and the Executive Director of I AM INVISIBLE Bullying & Suicide, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bullying prevention, suicide awareness, and youth mental wellness. Through her leadership, professional training, and community engagement, she supports students, families, and young adults in building resilience, emotional wellness, and strong support networks.

She is the published author of three books:

  • ACTIONS: The Bully & Suicide Resource Guide for the 21st Century

  • It’s Okay to Be Different

  • The Girl Who Felt Invisible

She is also the creator of the short educational film “I’m Invisible,” which highlights youth emotional struggles and the importance of being seen, heard, and supported.

Qualifications & Professional Training

QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Instructor (2016–Present)

Edwards is certified to teach the nationally recognized Question, Persuade, Refer model, equipping communities to recognize warning signs of suicide, offer supportive intervention, and connect individuals to appropriate help.

Certified Peer Recovery Specialist – Tennessee (2024–Present)

She earned her certification through the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, preparing her to support individuals experiencing emotional distress or substance‑use challenges using trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented practices.

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA (2024–Present)

She is trained to identify and respond to signs of mental‑health challenges in young people and connect them to appropriate support and resources.

Senior, Austin Peay State University

Bachelor of Science in Sociology – Community Development Graduating December 2026

Sharon plans to apply to APSU’s Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling program to continue her work in youth mental health, prevention, and therapeutic support.
