Our Journey: From Loss to Leadership

At the age of seven, Sharon Kaye Edwards experienced a devastating loss—her brother was killed in a car accident. As the world around her moved on, she felt invisible, drowning in grief that no one seemed to understand. She cried constantly, hoping someone would see her pain, but instead, she became the target of bullying.  â€‹As she grew older, her long wavy hair became another reason she was singled out, and the emotional toll led to eating disorders and a struggle for self-acceptance. Searching for healing, Sharon sought both natural and spiritual counseling, receiving years of professional care and guidance. Through resilience and time, she realized something life-changing—her voice had power.  In 2012, she heard the heartbreaking story of a 12-year-old who had taken their own life due to bullying. It reignited her deepest wounds, but it also gave her clarity and purpose—she knew what it felt like to be unheard, and she refused to let others suffer in silence.

Building a Movement

In 2016 and 2017, Sharon authored two children’s books and a resource guide, collaborating with school administrators, teachers, and counselors to ensure its effectiveness. This guide has since been utilized in schools and served as the foundation for the acclaimed short film, "I’m Invisible."  Recognizing the need for structured support, Sharon and Ellery officially founded I AM INVISIBLE BULLYING AND SUICIDE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, in 2018. With a dedicated team, they partnered with schools, after-school programs, and community initiatives—appearing on television, podcasts, and radio platforms to amplify the conversation.  â€‹As the CEO of SKE Publishing Co., Sharon oversees the development of research-based curriculums designed for school assemblies, summer camps, and teen groups. These structured programs provide age-appropriate, engaging, and transformative experiences that empower youth through mental health awareness, bullying prevention, and resilience-building.

Ellery’s Role: A Veteran’s Commitment to Youth Mental Health

Sharon’s husband, Ellery Edwards Sr., understands trauma from a different perspective. Having served 21 years in the military, he witnessed firsthand the impact of mental health challenges on individuals and communities. After retiring, he made it his mission to support youth mental health, earning his certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid and actively engaging in mental health education.  â€‹As the Lead Photographer & Media Specialist for I AM INVISIBLE BULLYING AND SUICIDE, Ellery plays a vital role in storytelling—capturing moments that bring awareness and inspire change. His military background, combined with his mental health training, has made him a powerful advocate for resilience and emotional well-being.

Continuing the Mission Today

As of 2025, Sharon and Ellery remain deeply committed to empowering youth through education, support, and advocacy. Their organization continues to host youth camps and teen groups, expanding partnerships with schools, universities, and mental health leaders to provide essential tools for resilience, self-care, and growth.  We invite you to explore our website to see how our initiatives continue to spark change.
